Bark bark bark bark [network]
Date: July 25th
Characters: 987-1234-23423-87345
[When the transmission starts, there is only a voice. Judging by it the speaker is a man in his sixties or thereabouts. ...though speaking is perhaps putting it a bit kindly. The man is yelling very agitatedly.]
Attention! Attention! Attention! Attention! ATTENTION!!!!!!
THEY ARE OUT! THEY ARE OUT! THEY ARE OUTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ATTENTION!!!!!
COME HELP GET THEM, GET THEM! They are OUT!
[Aren't you glad the network translates lapdog barking into human speech?
...He does have a message. Somewhere under the barking. Probably.]

[Voice] That is a Very Nice string of Numbers, btw.
Wait, what?
Where are you, are you okay?
[Voice]
I am okay, but all the petting zoo animals are out! And there aren't enough people here to catch all of them!
Re: [Voice]
Right, then.
I'm on my way.
[He'd put his new speed to use, but since he's trying to not get noticed, that leaves the bus...]
no subject
[Voice]
He may just laugh when he puts Russell's scenario together.]
Are you still here, by any chance?
[Voice]
I'm back now! What is it?
Re: [Voice]
[That's genuinely a good deed, there; Walter's not going to just ignore it.
Now, on to the questions...]
You wouldn't happen to be willing to make a statement about what happened today, would you?
Might help the petting zoo staff track down those people who started all this mess.
no subject
[Not a lie at all. Bark bark bark is fairly unhelpful for the fine details if you're human. For some reason they just don't understand it.]
no subject
Does that mean they wouldn't listen to you, or that they have all the clues you could give them already?
no subject
Both.
[Also they probably couldn't interpret half the clues that he could give them even if they understood him.]
no subject
[Walter's internally filing this away as 'may be important later, but probably dealt with for now'.]
Just to confirm who or where the suspects were.
no subject
[He is very unsure of this. But maybe he can figure out a way.]
no subject
It wouldn't be right if something like this happened again.
Not when we could have done something.
no subject
[...He really needs to learn how to write emails. Anonymous clues for the police are a thing, after all.
Not that he would have any useful information for them, strictly. Or any information that wouldn't tell them what he is.]
[Voice]
Ow...
Ex-excuse me. Who's escaped and Who are you?
[Voice]
[And then, after a moment, not quite by way of correcting himself, more by way of explaining the obvious:] ...Well, not the bears, of course.
We're not going on a bear hunt~
[Sadie frowns down at her phone, there was a petting zoo near here?
Her next question is somewhat hesitant]
Would...would you like some help? Also, did you say bears?!
I'm sure the bear hunt would be more successful here: https://italicised.dreamwidth.org/857.html
[He had a very unfortunate encounter with one of them a year ago, so he checked that one first. ...Or at some point after he was sent away by an exasperated dog sitter whose attempt to capture guinea pigs wasn't helped by a barking dog, even though the dog wasn't much larger than the pigs.]
They need as many hands as they can get. [His tone is switching from agitated to high and mighty now. Stop dawdling and get on it!] You just have to get on the small bus 5. [The final destination of which is Moss Manor, so that may at least give an indication as to where that petting zoo might be.]
Omfg. Well played, very well played XD
That's a relief but...why are there even bears in a petting zoo in the first place?!
[Sadie quickly opens the local bus company app and searches for the Number 5,and then does a quick search on Moss Manor, if the really had a breakout then there would be video evidence. Which there was. Well...]
Oh that doesn't look good...Um,it will take me fifteen minutes to get there but I'm free to help!
no subject
She might even spot a tiny white dog running around barking in the background of one or two of the videos. Not that Chad would identify himself as that dog.He sounds condescending now.]
It's not just a petting zoo. It's a zoo that also has a petting zoo attached to it. The bears are in a different area.
no subject
Are you okay? You sounded quite...distressed in your first message?
no subject
no subject
Oh, right, yes. Ah, maybe take a deep breath and go sit away from the chaos? That might make you feel more relaxed!
no subject
no subject
Okay! The bus has just arrived so I'll be there soon!
no subject
[And with that he is off to try and help with the catching efforts. More or less successfully.]
voice
voice
The Moss Manor Menagerie.
voice
So you're saying someone let the animals out?
voice
But only the ones who don't try to eat you.
A woman and two men. They destroyed the fence.

Voice
Calm down and stop screaming. Where is this?
Voice
[No, he is not.]
THE MENAGERIE!
no subject
[He thought he knew most of the retired crowd in Mossgate, and this is not a familiar voice.]
no subject
[NOT ANSWERING THAT QUESTION. He's pretty sure people will take him less seriously if he does.]
no subject
At least he's coming to investigate the thing, though.]
voice
Uhhh. So, which petting zoo was that, exactly?
voice
There is only one.
[He doesn't just sound condescending.
But really. Clearly it is the only one, because he has never been to a different one, so he can't imagine one existing.]
voice
[Come on, he knows that's not true.]
Does it have any... landmarks? Or a name?
voice
What can he say-----]
It's near the Manor. The bus stop is Manor House.
voice
[This mystery voice is joking, right? Because Russell sure knows that place.]
voice
Yes.
[He'll just claim that that is right. It sounds right?]
voice
[He has to go look, doesn't he. After hearing that and interacting with one of the voices, he has to go confirm this. Whatever it is. Chemtrails, or something.]
....see you there?
[Do mysterious voices like this even have bodies to be seen, oh god why is he taking any of this at all seriously.]
voice
[He is most certainly not going to identify himself in person.]
voice
[Of course he's not going to see the hallucination voice, why is he doing this?]
