[Network - Open] [Audio]
Date: [31st October]
Characters: [Sadie Moore and the Number I still haven't actually decided on even though its been months]
Sadie's tone of voice as it comes through the Network is unexpected unless anyone had managed to spend any significant amount of time with her and her brother. It is taunting in a way that only teenagers who have siblings can manage. Her words are probably confusing to the rest of the Network as well.
"You are a bad dog."

"...Oh Holy shit Numbers can make animals sentient guys."

Or, as Sadie will hear it, growling.
This is. SO. MEAN. He was doing such a good job pretending to be human! Nobody caught on to anything being weird! And then Sadie had to go and ruin it. No, she's most DEFINITELY not the pretty girl from his memory.
Asking the only important question right here

Having met him before the shouting makes a lot of sense, he isn't exactly quiet when he barks.

MEANWHILE [Audio]
Oh, he laughs. Given how the past night has gone for him, this is just silly enough to pop some sort of internal resistance inside him.]
I- I guess they can be any species, then.
[He says, trying to bring some levity back into his voice, but no; he's still zonked out on stress, it's not working entirely.
It's better than thinking about being overwhelmed by that Data Overload, about what it was like to drown as a nonhuman thoug- aaand there we go, now he's breathing hard for a different reason again.
Not that it's instantly noticeable.]

"Yeah, it certainly opens up some new avenues."
Meanwhile on her phone she texts him, Are you still at Jim's?
[Text]
Yes, though I expect we'll both be ready to head over to the flat shortly.
Not that Jim's staying at the flat!
[There's less than a second's pause before the second text goes out, but there's still some internal flailing to go with it.]
no subject
But you want him to don't you :P
Maybe you should ask him to stay... Its better than being alone and having Russell there isn't quite the same is it?
Maybe a little on the nose but she was speaking from experience.
no subject
No, it's not.
[Dammit Sadie.]
Though, what did happen for you last night? Or was it just me? I do apologize for not being able to notice.
[Though, given she hadn't been knocked down for the count... Or maybe he just didn't notice? Sadie would be in the right to read him the riot act anyhow, though.]

Sadie grabs the ruby off of her bedside table and sends a picture to Walter
I got this, no bloody clue what it is tho

As for that, I think we've technically already had a date??
[He doesn't even know 100% how to use boyfriend-type labels yet!]
That is definitely strange. Any associated memories, or is it just a gem?
[If he were in a better mood, he'd make a pun. Alas.]
no subject
Where did you go??? Was it nice??? You still didn't answer my question, are you planning on asking him out?
He is handsome. And clever. And a bit of a disaster. You've got good taste :P
Anyway, no memories, just the gem. I think it's a real Ruby o.o
[Text]
[And then back to Jim's place, but Walter's not mentioning that. Gods, the teasing might never end...
It serves as a nice distraction from thinking about his Echo, though. Go Sadie!]
Well, we can certainly be disasters together, out of those three. >.>
Strange; maybe it meant something to the person in your other memories?
[Using it as a channel for any magical power is not going to be his first guess.]
no subject
I expect to here all the news when you guys get secretly married on a romantic trip to the Caribbean.
[All joking aside Walter brings up a good point about the Ruby.]
Maybe...There might be something about it in that journal I got from the caves in that case!
Walter: /sticks tongue out at/
[In other words, no. =P]
We really should meet up to work more on translating that. Have you heard anything from Chihiro?
[Since she's also one of Sadie's friends, Walter recalls - and also went through those caves where Sadie got the journal.]
(no subject)
Since it's not official that all those dropped lost their Echoes until Nov 11th...
