I.

It's midday when trouble seems to brew underfoot. Literally underfoot, in cases - wherever the Numbered are, they'll suddenly find dormice approaching them, running around their feet, in some cases up their legs, aiming to get their attention, and then running off - coming back again, running off once more in the same direction.

Trying to get the Numbered to FOLLOW.


II.

If Numbered decide to follow the mice, they'll be lead through the streets, fields, or whatever there is (in some cases, this might mean that the mice are trying to lead them through the military area aroudn the air base). Perhaps they'll run into other Numbered on the way - all mice seem to be leading those that they lead into the exact same direction.


III.

The direction of, it turns out, the tunnels under the cliffs. The mice will easily slip through the grates that bar the entries - the grates were made to keep humans out and let a tiny mice through easily. The Numbered, however... well, the grates were installed solid and sturdy to keep humans out. The mice will vanish in the tunnels and not come back.

[A few minutes later, a reply will appear in a handwritten fashion.]

Maybe that’s why they brought up the sharks.

The little mice said the giant mouse is in danger because of Mr. Evil. Russell figured out they want us to stop him.

....The sharks could get through every size of water channel. Does that mean there's some kind of waterway connection between the cave and the surface water?

All those offshoot tunnels - they're too small for any of us to fit through down here, but if any of them vent out by the ocean, they could be points of entry.

And while we can't see the roof of the cavern the giant mouse was in, perhaps there is a vent there, as well. The sharks could get in directly from the river.

[Sadie has also now tapped into the Network.]

The sharks could potentially get in but where the mouse is doesn't seen particularly damp in a way that suggests that it regularly floods, which is what would need to happen for the sharks to be much of a threat.

If there were another tsunami, however, things could change.

[It's not entirely impossible, which is the worst thing about it.]

Perhaps Mr. Evil is planning a way to trigger one?

That, or he's developing a way to ...I don't know. [All of this is so ridiculous, her next words could as well make sense.] He might be working on a way to send tons of tiny sharks in and have them combine into a big one?

The mice say Mr. Evil has a shark half as big as the big mouse!

[Half is still big enough to be a threat to the giant mouse if it can get inside the burrow.]

[Both of these are worrying plans!]

Does he control it? Or could we talk it out of attacking? Since neither Mr. Helpful nor Mr. Neutral seem to be able to control the mice, perhaps the sharks are the same way.

Three of us - Ben, Sadie, and I - received Echoes because we were at the river when Sadie triggered it with her magic.

[A fact that gets more and more ominous by itself each time it comes up. Why ARE mice instilling Echoes????]
