[Text/Audio]

Date: [3/18]
Characters: Thom

[A new number appears on the network, this time drawn out in block letters, and quickly filled in with different patterns using colored pencils. And then a thump, as Thom notices that Gizmo has spotted one of the family cats and hastily drops his sketchpad on the desk.]

Gizmo! What are you doing?

[The sound of footsteps and a second voice.]

I wanted to play, but it ran away again. I don't think cats are very good at playing.

You're still very young then. It is normal to still thing about the world like that at your age. You'll learn more and understand as you get older.

I don't know Thom. Humans of all ages need us to look after them.

Yes. Humans needs someone with better senses than they have around to make sure that they don't do anything dumb. [Like not giving treats to dogs.

Or, okay, warning them when one of the kids is about to hurt themselves by drinking from funny smelling substances in plastic bottles or tipping themselves into the pond. He was praised a lot when he alerted older humans to that, so that must have been most excellent work.]

Keep a good eye on your human and his family then, and if they're doing something dumb alert other humans!

And if they don't give you treats you just sit next to them and stare at them until they give you some. putting your paws on their legs also works really well, but barking doesn't work that well so I'd recommend portioning it wisely.

Listen to your heart and to your stomach!

Also if he might die from it it's definitely dumb.

Try it for a bit and then you can ask me any questions that have come up while you've been working on it!
