[Log] Ready Players 1 - 5

It had taken a rather frank conversation aided by some cat petting at the Summer Fete but Sadie and Walter had decided that a break and a distraction from the changes that had started to be brought on by the Numbers and the Aurora was needed, something that everyone could enjoy despite their differing age brackets. It hadn't taken them long to come up with the perfect solution:

The Town Arcade.

Games, machines, and Air Hockey galore! There was something for everyone in their small, motley crew to enjoy there. Sadie was obviously bringing Ben in an attempt to make up for the failed day of relaxation that was the sailing trip, and to get his mind of his new dental arrangement and complimentary memory. Walter had mentioned bringing his roomate.

With a bit of back and forth around schedules, a date and time was set. And so, on the 14th August, the four descended on the local arcade.

"We can save it for after the food, then; surprise the rest of them all at once..."

He does note where Ben focuses, though, for later.

"Er, well, I got Russell a keychain as well, but that wasn't all that much, but-"

"I just figured it wouldn't mean that much if I got something for myself. It's not a problem, really."

Considering the point, Benjiro nods slowly as he finds himself in agreement, “You’re right... It wouldn’t mean as much.” Then with an obvious grin, he finishes, “But that just means we’ll get one for you! No way am I walking out without all of us carrying a new plush.”

Mind set, he motions for Walter to follow over to a nearby pinball machine. Slanted as the surface happens to be, it’ll do to hold the plushes while Walter has a chance to eat the warm food.

Walter gives a sheepish grin, hugging the plushies as if on reflex.

"... Thanks."

Getting to put them down is a relief, though - as is getting those chips.

Leaning on one of the nearby machines, he digs into his plate with gusto.

Once Walter has his food, Benjiro pulls his backpack around one shoulder to dig inside. He pulls out a couple of bottles of water, setting one close to Walter on the pinball machine, and keeping the last for himself. After those, he gets a small bag of roasted nuts and zips the backpack to push back behind himself.

Bag tugged open carefully, he pauses to glance around before pulling one strap of his mask from behind an ear to hang towards the other side. Mindful of keep his lips close together, he’ll set in to eat as well. The food will provide a nice boost of energy for a new round of games with the goal of gathering tickets.
