[...well. He's had that number rattling around in his head off and on for how long, and now he decides to make use of it? Torin is quite possibly late to the party. But he does, however, have a very important first question to ask of people after he's scribbled the number down on his notebook while having a morning cup of coffee in his office and after he's processed a bit of what's going on here.]

I was definitely at the festival; there was a good turnout! Were you there as well?

There's been a lot of research done on those plates! I've seen a great many arguments over them over the years.

That, my friend, is a loaded question. No one knows for certain, and I have seen grown men get into fisticuffs in the middle of a paleontology conference over their true purpose.

Personally, I think they were used in threat and mating displays, but there are those out there who would argue that the plates aided in the regulation of body temperature.

I was involved, yes. And I must confess that though I've had this number for some time, I never thought to write it down until now.

Then you must not have hung around many scientists. They're very passionate. Some just control that passion better than others.

That is the general idea behind that theory, yes, though it is falling out of favor.

I was just testing out a new ink pen and thought that would be as good a way to test it as any. This is not how I thought my morning would go.
