Important Questions [Text, Open]
Date: September 2
Characters: A number sans any other identification that is totally Torin
[...well. He's had that number rattling around in his head off and on for how long, and now he decides to make use of it? Torin is quite possibly late to the party. But he does, however, have a very important first question to ask of people after he's scribbled the number down on his notebook while having a morning cup of coffee in his office and after he's processed a bit of what's going on here.]
So what's your favorite dinosaur?

So what's your favorite dinosaur?

Sam Stone. And I have a feeling you've already asked me this question.
no subject
[Well, shit.]
no subject
Okay where are you? I'm coming to you. We need to talk and I'm not doing it here.

text => action
[And he is. He's gotten enough used to the stupid eyesight thing to drive safely, at least. And his steering wheel only has a couple little dents in it (he did break a pinky accidentally, in the process, but he's had worse). He heads through the building towards Torin's office.]
no subject
As far as Torin himself goes, he's shifted from using the notepad to get on the network to pecking away at his keyboard. There's still work to be done, after all.]
no subject
So you got a number. How long have you had it?
no subject
Oh, off and on since I was about six years old or so, I'd guess. Can't say I made a note of the day.
[Said as casually as if they were having a conversation about the coffee and not anything particularly odd.]
no subject
Okay, longer than me, then. Just never did anything with it until now, I take it.
[He's not even going to ask what changed. Nobody their age is going to remember something potentially subtle from being six years old.]
You just dove into a pretty crazy time. There's aliens, apparently. And I might be turning into a dragon.
no subject
[He does, however, seem amused at that surprise. Even if he doesn't realize what the memory that came with it actually was. That flash of standing with the dinosaurs was just the overactive imagination of a small child excited over dinosaurs, as far as he's concerned.
...and okay this is just getting weird now. He doesn't look like he entirely believes Sam.]
You do realize that just sounds like you're messing with me now, right?
no subject
[He demonstrates the last one by holding up a hand and wiping off the foundation he has to use to look normal, these days, showing off a shade that doesn't look unhealthy, just... grey.]
no subject
[His tone is light, teasing, but then he sees that gray hand and sort of freezes, looks confused, and one hand sort of automatically goes up to massage a temple.]
...what on Earth...?
no subject
[He makes another smudge for Torin on his cheek, to show that the gray is literally everywhere.]
Now that you've actually used your number, you're probably going to start getting visions. Memories from another person. It might be normal-seeming shit, or it might be turning-into-a-dragon level shit. It's hard to tell.
no subject
[There's a long pause.]
Not that any of it made any sense. I was...fighting some sort of creature that was draining things of color, apparently.
no subject
[Sam sighs. Why is everyone in his life having to deal with this?]
Sorry, Torin. I get shapeshifting dragons and alien animal smells and giant treehouses. Looks like you get magic monster fights.
no subject
The monster was the size of a building and I'm fairly certain I was in a giant dinosaur robot.
[There's a pause.]
And wearing spandex and some sort of helmet. While in the robot. There were others dressed similarly, albeit with different colors.
no subject
Yeah. Okay, definitely one of the weird ones. That probably rivals mine for weirdest.
We do have a kid who got cat ears, though. And somebody else has a weird-ass mouth so he has to wear one of those medical masks all the time. So at least be glad nothing's changed physically yet.
no subject
[But there's a bit of a smirk, he's fine and unbothered, really, just going to keep telling himself that.]
And I believe the only change I need worry about is suddenly waking up with the sort of body that might make one confident enough to run around in spandex. I can handle that.
no subject
Considering I've got super-strength or some shit, it might happen, you never know.
I also mentioned the aliens, right? Because there's three of them. They call themselves Mr Helpful, Mr Neutral, and Mr Evil. Yes, I know the names are stupid. I told them so and they just got confused.
no subject
Now there's an idea. Super strength to go with the spandex. I'd be a regular superhero.
[Like he'd ever be out there doing anything like that. Ridiculous. But he sobers a bit at the talk of the aliens.]
That's...not exactly a subtle naming scheme, is it? They sound like they've escaped from a children's book.
no subject
They have very simplistic understandings of what those concepts mean, but they do seem to mostly stick to them. Mr Helpful tries returning lost things to people, and Mr Evil is responsible for having to explode that world war II bomb last year.
