[ What triggered this video? Well, Seth Teufel, local dollmaker, is doing his best to repair some sick dolls after the earthquake. And that's where he is, in the back room of his shop doing just that. He has classical music playing in the background. ]

Ah, Miss Crystabelle, you need some new hands, don't you? Well, that won't do, we'll get you fixed up right away! Let's see...

[ And now Seth is talking to a doll, good-naturedly. He's trying to find new hands to match the busted ones on the doll he's calling Crystabelle, humming to himself along with the music. ]

Ah, how about these? They'll look lovely on you, and maybe you'll find someone who wants to take you home.

[ He's going to go quiet as he meticulously switches out the hands on the doll, since this one is ball-jointed. ]

There you go. Feeling better? That's good, that's good! Ahaha~ Now, what about... Ah, right, Sir Reginald. You need a new head, but the rest of you is fine... That'll mean some painting, hm... You know what? Let's make you better than ever.

[ ...He doesn't realize people can respond to this, he thinks he's totally just recording this for his channel on doll care online. ]

I have no idea what's going on. Care to explain...?

Since this past June, a small number of people here in Mossgate have been gaining strange memories and abilities not their own - superhuman speed, the ability to breathe underwater, skin of an unnatural gray shade - and also the ability to access this Network through virtually any media you care to name. And no one who lacks a Number can see you use this Network, either.

There's no concrete explanation why, but there seems to be some level of intent - and power that it wouldn't make sense for any one person or government to have - behind it.

That's... alarming. I can't recall anything like that for me...

[ Because you stopped aging. ]

But it'll be something I keep in mind. I used to be a doctor, so maybe my skills can help in some ways? In figuring some of this out.

Not everyone has to deal with unfortunate surprises; even my own have had something of a range.

And yes, those skills would be much appreciated. Though in some of our cases we may have to seek treatment through covert means, as well.
