An Announcement. [Network - Audio Only]
Date: January 2nd
Characters: Walter Weekes, via some still-unwritten Number
[There'd been several seconds' worth of internal debate, whether to put this on the Network at large, send it to everyone's known Number individually to make it less public, or even to mention it at all.
Walter's voice is clear, but it's obvious there's effort behind that. He sounds... resigned, exhausted, generally unhappy.]
Has anyone else tried to contact Jim? My own attempts have been... unsuccessful. Including through his Number.
[He'd checked at Jim's workplace, too, but the only answers there were annoyingly vague. Either the man'd gone ghosted, or he was out of the country.
And Walter can't shake the thought that he could have had something to with it, as irrational as it might come across. (At least Jim won't have to remember dying, anymore, unless until he comes back.)
What a way to begin the New Year, huh?]

For future reference, sentence ends 'hacking can accomplish'.
[There's a pause, but only to summarize his thoughts; there is such a thing as too much stream-of-consciousness.]
Questionable. Before, I'd have said it's unethical depending on who was doing it and who or what they were doing it for. Now, I'd say the latter makes more of a difference, and that there's a bigger range of activities
[The sentence stops there. The text is sent, but only because he is taken by surprise with how the thought turned.]

Walter, you're going to have to be careful. When it comes to information I mean. I'll do what I can to help of course.

[But he doesn't know know. Not yet. Still, that pit is yawning wider, instability spreading-]
Thank you, Sadie. That means a lot.
[Each of the sentences is sent as a separate text.]

It's no less than what I know you'd do if the situation was reversed.
Besides have to help my big brother right :P

That
triggered another Echo.
I mean, I DO agree.

!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you alright???!!
Because 1984 is a work of fiction. =P
Just Caitlin referring to Webmind as her Big Brother. Affectionately, as opposed to the 8491-esque connotation.
Re: Because 1984 is a work of fiction. =P
Well, that's kind of sweet, and it's good to know that Webmind had people who were that fond of him about.

[It's not doing much to lift his own mood, however.]
I still don't know how to feel about right now, though.
[Or how to make himself feel differently.]
