 [Jimmy was scribbling in his notebook, trying to work out a twist on a numeric cipher for his most recent story. In between scratching out failed calculations and experimenting with various cyphers and keywords, he manages to write out a certain number.]

[Jimmy picks his notebook back up cautiously, holding onto it by one corner and keeping it as far as possible from himself.]

It sounds like it's coming from my notebook, but that's impossible.

I wrote a lot of numbers in my notebook. I was trying to figure out if it was possible to combine a vigenere cipher and an A1Z26 cipher.

Well, some of those numbers connected you to the network!

Two questions. What network? And how did writing out a number in my notebook connect me to it?

This! You can talk to people by writing your number onto things or typing it into things.

That doesn't explain anything. How can I talk to people just by writing a number down?

We don't know.

Just accept that it is the case.

Why should I just accept it? For something this strange, shouldn't the first response be to find answers?

There is no answer.

People have tried and failed to find it.

Then if no one else can explain it, I'll just have to find the truth.
